Nugget
The Nugget slot game is a title by AvatarUX Studios, part of their portfolio incorporating the exciting gameplay mechanic known as Golden Ways, deviating from their popular PopWins mechanic. The innovative Golden Ways system introduces new experiences and expanded capabilities for players to enjoy.
AvatarUX Studios is a young yet highly skilled team that launched in 2018. This slot game displays their talents through its impressive design and entertaining features.
One distinctive element of the game is its theme and storyline which takes players on a gold rush adventure in the Old West. The photorealistic visuals are a notable departure from AvatarUX's usual style, marking the Nugget slot as a unique title within their repertoire.
Game Features:
- Core Gameplay:
The Nugget slot incorporates the Golden Ways pay system, which features a main 6x4 grid and an extra 6-position horizontal reel called the Zap Reel. There are fixed 15,625 paylines in the base game, which increase to over 500,000 during free spins.
- Winning Combinations: Wins are achieved when at least three symbols land adjacently on the reels, starting from the left. Each win triggers a cascade, removing the winning symbols and allowing new ones to drop down, this process repeats until no new wins occur.
- Symbols: There are 11 symbols represented across four categories - low, mid, high, and super-high. The super-high category is reflected by the Gunslinger symbol, followed by three high-value characters. The medium category includes themed symbols such as hammers, whiskey glasses, and Stetson hats, while the low symbols are classic A-J card royals.
- Wild West Rewards: This is a random modifier triggered by the appearance of Payday symbols. In the base game this reward comes with a lives counter from 1 to 4 that counts down on each subsequent spin. The modifiers include HOTX Gunslinger, where Gunslinger symbols gain a multiplier value equal to the number of Gunslinger symbols in the frame. Mystery Symbols, which transforms a random number of symbols on the reels, and finally Low Pay Removal, which removes low symbols from the reels.
- Free Spins: Triggered by the appearance of at least three Scatter symbols, this round introduces a selection between two Prospector Wheels that determine the number of initial spins and win ways. This feature can grant up to 15 initial spins, with the number of possible win ways rising to 531,441.
- Gold Rush Feature: This addition occurs once per bonus round and can randomly appear on any free spin. When triggered, players receive additional free spins, and the frequency of Payday and Gunslinger symbols increases significantly, along with a multiplier increase if the HOTX Gunslinger modifier is active.
- Bonus Buy Options: The Nugget slot provides a broad range of bonus purchases and extra bets. Including Ante Bets which increase the chances of hitting free spins for an increased bet, Dynamite Strike for guaranteed Payday symbols on each spin, and varied levels of Bonus Buy, allowing players to trigger up to 15 free spins with expanded win ways for different base bet values.
The Nugget slot displays high-level volatility, with the default RTP at an above-average 96.05%. Win frequency is also decent at 23.24%, implying that approximately every 4 spins will yield a return. However, these statistics may vary during bonus buys or bonus bets.
The game is fully optimized for mobile play, offering seamless gameplay across both smartphones and tablets, regardless of the operating system.
In summary, the Nugget slot game offers a refreshing break from the developer's previous PopWins titles, providing new gameplay experiences while maintaining the high quality and entertaining features players have come to expect from AvatarUX Studios. The GoldenWays engine evidently has considerable potential, and fans eagerly anticipate future titles incorporating this innovative mechanic.
